Dance 

Northwest Florida Ballet

Northwest Florida Ballet is a professional ballet company established in 1969.  Guest artists of national stature perform with the company which presents the "Nutcracker" in December, a free outdoor concert each May, hosts the Northwest Florida Dance Festival each June, offers classes for gifted young dancers, and provides demonstrations for schools and civic clubs.  Season tickets are available Tel: (850) 664-7787

 

Music

Emerald Coast Chorus

The chorus is a chapter of The Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America.  Including nearly 50 members, the group performs by request as both a chorus and individual quartets.  An annual show is held in March.  Rehearsals are held at the Church of Christ in Fort Walton Beach on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m.

Emerald Coast Community Band

The band provides an opportunity for all community members to rehearse and perform together, from the out-of-practice to the expert.  Public band concerts are given in various parks in the area during the Summer, and two formal concerts are performed each year.  Rehearsals held every Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach.

Emerald Coast Concert Association

This group was formed in 1960 to bring a variety of entertainment to the area.  Three to five concerts a year are offered at the Civic Auditorium, ranging from string quartets to jazz to light musicals.

First Arts

Located at the First Methodist Church in downtown Fort Walton Beach.  Their goal is to present some of the premier performing groups from around the world.  They have already drawn attention from internationally known performers.

Fort Walton Beach Community Chorus

Established in 1975, this group consists of approximately 60 men and women from the surrounding community and military bases.  Two regularly scheduled shows include a Christmas concert and a spring or summer performance.  Periodically a children's concert is staged to help raise money for the Vocal Scholarship Fund.  Rehearsals are held at the First Christian Church every Tuesday at 7 p.m.

North West Florida Symphony Orchestra & Symphony Chorus of OWCC

The NFSO presents a season of five concerts annually, in addition to annual performances for area fifth grade students and a concerto competition for students under 25 years of age.  The NFSO Chorus presents two or more major programs each year.  The professional musicians and amateurs who play and sing in these ensembles come from across northwest Florida.  For concert or audition information call:

OWCC Proscenium Playhouse and Music Theatre

A series of performances sponsored by the OWCC Division of Fine and Performing Arts is offered every year.  Tickets are available to the general public.

Stage Crafters Community Theatre

Since 1972, this community theatre group has grown in size and stature, performing four productions each year that include music, drama, comedy and mystery.  Special rates for students and senior citizens.  All productions held by the Civic Auditorium.

The Arts and Design Society

More than three decades ago, the  society was founded by artists and local citizens to promote area arts.  Today, the society displays art collections on Sunday afternoons.

The Arts Center of Okaloosa Walton Community College

The college boasts a 120,000 square foot fine and performing arts facility.  The center features a 1,600 seat main theatre able to accommodate Broadway shows, an art wing with two galleries, and a 2,500 seat amphitheatre.
